Students will understand the diversity of people who contributed to the success of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Students will understand that people living in the country’s interior were just as integral to the Lewis and Clark Expedition as the captain for whom it is named. Students will understand the role of Sacagawea, York and other people of color in the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Students will get to know (and love) Seaman, Meriwether Lewis’ dog.
