Eisenhower and Little Rock: A Civil Rights Lesson Plan

Students will examine letters written to President Dwight D. Eisenhower both for and against his actions regarding the Little Rock Crisis, in addition to background information on the event itself. Students will be able to analyze the role of the federal government in handling the Little Rock Criss and be able to articulate the reasoning behind President Eisenhower's actions to resolve the crisis.

Recommended level: High School: Ninth Grade through Twelfth Grade
